A retreat close to my norwegian heart
I’ve been searching for the right retreat space in Norway, and when I found this house in Vesterålen, just north of Lofoten, I knew it was the one. Here you’ll find the same dramatic landscapes, but with fewer tourists, more calm, and no queues on the hiking trails. Adventures await us as we explore some of Vesterålen’s most beautiful trails, winding through mountains, coastline, and the untouched northern nature.
During our days we’ll move between Pilates, hikes, sauna sessions, long shared meals, and slow, joyful moments at the villa. There is something about this part of Norway that feels grounding and uplifting at the same time. It clears your mind and brings you back to what really matters. I can’t wait to share it with you.

BØ, VESTERÅLEN, JUST NORTH OF LOFOTEN
OUR HOME FOR THE WEEK
Many people dream of visiting Lofoten, and with good reason. But just a little further north, you’ll find a place that many have yet to discover: Vesterålen.
Here you’ll find the same dramatic scenery, the same light, mountains, and sea. The difference? Here it’s quiet, untouched, and there’s more space for yourself. There are no queues on the hiking trails. Most likely, we’ll be completely alone.
Our home is Private Villa Skagenhaugen, a newly built architect-designed retreat surrounded by the sea on three sides and set within a private 30-acre nature reserve. Designed to bring you closer to nature, it combines modern Scandinavian comfort with the raw beauty of Northern Norway.
The property features a dedicated Pilates space, wood fired sauna, hot tub, private beach access, and miles of spectacular hiking trails right outside the door. Wander along small trails, collect shells by the shore, or simply lie in the heather and gaze toward the open sea and the Lofoten Wall. During our stay, this extraordinary place will be exclusively ours to call home.

Early September in Vesterålen marks the shift into autumn in the North. Days are still generous in light, with long golden hours and soft, and changing coastal weather.
Expect temperatures around 10–15°C during the day and cooler evenings. This is a time of clarity and contrast. Crisp air, dramatic skies, and quiet landscapes as summer fades and autumn slowly arrives.
We recommend packing warm layers, waterproof outerwear, and comfortable shoes suitable for time outdoors. A detailed packing list will be provided.
-
The retreat is limited to 6–12 participants, allowing for an intimate setting with space for personal guidance, presence and connection throughout the experience.
